Mum's trip to the Adelaide Botanical Gardens

Hi Everybuddy, last Wednesday Mum went to visit Poppa but I couldn't go because they were going to the Adelaide Botanical Gardens.  My sissy went too and they met my brother during his lunch break.

Poppa and Sissy

The gardens are very beautiful and peaceful.  It is free to enter and my mum and dad have taken the kids to visit since they were babies.

Poppa, Sissy and my big brother.

They stopped for lunch at the kiosk.  They met a few friends there too.

On with the walk.  It was a beautiful winter's day.

This is the Royal Adelaide Hospital where my brother works.  It is right alongside the Gardens.

This plant is for Toby.

Uncle Mango, mum said this tree was just the right size for you cause you would have lots of peemail hehehe.

Well, that's all for now.  Next time its my turn to go visiting.  Take care all.  No worries, and love, Stella

  1. Your post brought back lovely memories for mum because she has visited those gardens a few times and has lots of lovely photo's of them. The hospital is where mum's brother in law had his operation to get a kidney donated by his lovely wife. Mum loves Adelaide in fact she loves Australia lol. Hugs GJ xx

  2. Hi Stella, thanks for the tour. It was really nice to see what the Botanical Gardens look like. I like the trees too - I can read the peemail and if I want to, I could leave some too :) with a little help. It's still summer up here but there's a certain coolness so Fall can't be too far off. Bye for now.

  4. Hey there Stella...(and mom, of course :))
I have got the shiverries here.... Phew! Two reasons:
    1. The Royal Adelaide hospital is where my brother works. (Ortho surgeon)It appears that our brothers work together ???
    2. Those plants: In laymans terms, they are called "The Modjaji Cycad". They grow in a unique part of South Africa (from where all those plants have originated). "Modjaji" is the 'Rain Queen' - an African matriach of the Lovedu Tribe - a peaceful community, not far from where I grew up. The mountain, where the rain queen reside, has a cycad forest growing on it - only on the southern side of the mountain. They are millions of years old - the dinosaurs of the plant world! (and very tall!) To see one, in YOUR botanical gardens, so far away from us, is incredibly special!!! Thank you for thinking of us and for this photo!!
    Wow! What a surprise!

  5. Beautiful tour, Stella--even if you couldn't do it personally. It would have been a great place to run free!

  6. What a treat! Do they ever allow doggies in the Botanical Gardens? It's a bit surprising to see so much green in the dead of your winter. And Paul has a beard! Thanks for the tour.
